The badges of most county cricket clubs reflect those of the actual counties – for example, the red and white roses of Lancashire and Yorkshire, and the bear and ragged staff of Warwickshire. As far as I can make out, the geographical county of Glamorgan has never used a daffodil as its badge or emblem. You can, however, see why the cricket club chose it, being the only first–class county club in Wales – whose national flower, whether formally recognised or not, is the daffodil.
